About the role
We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to develop bio-integrated medical devices in one or more of the following areas: biosensors, wearable ultrasound, bioresorbable materials and devices, or functional polymers.
Candidates are not expected to cover all four areas. The position is intended for researchers with strong experimental depth in at least one area and an interest in working across engineering, materials, chemistry, and biology.
What you will do
- Lead an independent research programme aligned with at least one of the advertised research areas.
- Design, fabricate, characterize, and validate bio-integrated devices, materials, or sensing systems.
- Work with BMDL researchers and collaborators across complementary scientific disciplines.
- Analyse results, maintain rigorous experimental records, and prepare high-quality publications.
- Contribute to research proposals and support the development of junior researchers.
Candidate profile
- PhD in engineering, bioengineering, materials science, chemistry, polymer science, physics, or a related field, completed or nearing completion.
- Demonstrated experimental expertise in at least one advertised research area.
- Strong publication record appropriate to career stage.
- Ability to plan and execute research independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong written and spoken English.
Preferred qualifications
- Electrochemical or biochemical sensors and molecular recognition.
- Ultrasound transducers, piezoelectric materials, or wearable acoustic systems.
- Bioresorbable materials, transient electronics, or implantable devices.
- Functional polymers, hydrogels, soft materials, or biointerfaces.
- Microfabrication, device integration, biological validation, or related characterization methods.

About the role
We are looking for a highly organized and proactive Research Operations & Project Coordinator to support the effective operation of a multidisciplinary research group of 15–20 members.
The coordinator will help research projects stay organized, on track, and well coordinated while also contributing to the identification and development of new funding opportunities. The role combines research operations, project coordination, and proposal development and is well suited for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of science, organization, and project management.
What you will do
- Track project milestones, timelines, deliverables, responsibilities, and blockers.
- Coordinate communication, action items, and follow-ups across research projects.
- Identify and evaluate relevant national and international funding opportunities.
- Support the preparation and coordination of new research proposals.
- Maintain clear project documentation and help improve day-to-day research operations.
Candidate profile
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, bioengineering, natural sciences, life sciences, or a related field.
- Preferably 2–3+ years of experience in technical project coordination, R&D, project management, PMO, research operations, or a related role.
- Strong organizational, planning, follow-up, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to understand and work comfortably with technical and scientific information.
- A proactive and solution-oriented approach to identifying and resolving coordination issues.
- Strong written and spoken English.
Preferred qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent research/project experience.
- Experience in an academic, R&D, or applied research environment.
- Experience with national or international research funding programs and proposal preparation.

About the role
We are looking for a Laboratory Operations & Technical Manager to ensure that our experimental research laboratory remains operational, safe, well organized, properly stocked, and technically sustainable on a day-to-day basis.
The role combines laboratory operations, equipment management, inventory and procurement coordination, and technical support. It is well suited for someone who enjoys working directly with laboratory systems, identifying problems early, and building reliable processes that allow researchers to work efficiently.
What you will do
- Coordinate the operation and maintenance of laser micromachining, 3D printing, and other laboratory systems.
- Manage equipment maintenance, calibration, service, and technical issue follow-up.
- Manage laboratory inventory, stock levels, purchasing, and supplier coordination.
- Maintain SOPs and support onboarding, safe equipment use, and laboratory organization.
- Identify recurring operational issues and implement preventive and more efficient laboratory processes.
Candidate profile
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, bioengineering, natural sciences, or a related field.
- Preferably 3+ years of hands-on laboratory, R&D, or technical operations experience.
- Comfortable working with laboratory equipment and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Strong organizational, inventory management, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
- Sufficient English to work with technical documentation, equipment manuals, and suppliers.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with microfabrication methods, laser micromachining, or related manufacturing systems.
- Experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping systems.
- Experience with laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration, or technical service processes.
- Experience with purchasing, technical quotation evaluation, and supplier management.
- Familiarity with SOPs, laboratory safety, quality systems, or equipment management systems.
- Experience in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, medtech, micro/nanotechnology, or a similar research environment.
