Short bio
Levent Beker received BS and MS degrees from Middle East Technical University and a PhD from UC Berkeley, followed by postdoctoral studies at Stanford University. Since 2019, he has been a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Translational Research Center at Koç University and director of the Bio-Integrated Microdevices Laboratory.
His research focuses on wearable and implantable medical devices, biosensors, and flexible electronics.
He has received several grants and awards, including a Marie-Curie Fellowship, ERC Starting Grant, ERC Proof of Concept Grant, Gates Grand Challenges Grant (co-PI), the Materials Research Society Early Career Award, Stanford ChEM-H Postdoctoral Fellowship, and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute fellowship.
